History
The pond sits next to the old county seat, whose first Confucius temple was built in 1684, and it once fed the moat at the old city's East Gate. Most of the bright structures on the water are post-war: the Spring and Autumn Pavilions of 1953 and the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, finished in 1976. The lake hosted water events at the 2009 World Games.
