Yancheng Old Town

Yancheng was Kaohsiung's busiest district when the harbour boomed, and many of its food stalls date from that time. Start with breakfast in a covered market and work towards the harbour by way of duck rice and old-style sweets.
Getting there
Take the MRT Orange Line to Yanchengpu (O2). The first two stops are inside the Dagouding covered market, about 5 minutes on foot from the station.
On the way
- Dagouding Market: A covered market built over an old drainage canal. The first two stops are inside.
- Pier-2 Art Center: Old harbour warehouses turned into galleries and shops, about 10 minutes' walk from the duck rice stop.
