Taiwan Sugar Museum (Ciaotou Sugar Refinery)
台灣糖業博物館(橋頭糖廠)
Taiwan's first modern sugar refinery, now a museum next to the MRT station named after it.
History
Building began in 1901 and the factory was finished in 1902, with a railway station built in 1901 to carry its sugar. Damaged by wartime bombing and then restored, it stopped production in 1999 as world sugar prices fell and opened as a museum in 2006.
